Darío Benedetto will return this Tuesday to La Bombonera wearing the Barcelona Ecuador jersey, when Boca hosts him at 9 PM for the second matchday of Group D of the Copa Libertadores. This match will have a special flavor due to the striker's strong bond with the La Ribera club and the fresh memory of his controversial exit in July 2024. In the lead-up to the game, the forward made it clear that his return is an emotional one. "It's a nice opportunity to return to the field where I was happy," Benedetto expressed, also remarking that if he scores, he will not celebrate the goal out of his identification with Boca. "I am a Boca fan, a die-hard Boca fan, and I will be for the rest of my life," he assured. The striker himself also admitted that he imagines an ambivalent reception from the fans.
